Rimini Airport is situated in an area which is considered to be one of the most important holiday resorts in Europe, and many tourists and Italians come here to enjoy the sea and sun. Passengers have various transportation options for leaving Rimini Airport. Those who would like to continue their journey by train can use the bus services of Rimini Tram to reach the railway station in Rimini, as there is no actual train station at the airport. Buses are available every half an hour from the airport, and depart from outside the terminal building. These buses are labeled as number 9. They are very convenient, and very inexpensive. Rimini Tram also offers a comprehensive bus transportation system within Rimini itself, providing bus routes to the Italia in Miniatura Theme Park, the Rimini Stadium, the Fiera Rimini Trade Fare and the Piazzale Gramsi, the local food market. The city center of Rimini is linked by bus to many of the seaside resorts, including Bellariva, Rivzurra, Miramare and Marebello. Buses travel to areas outside of Rimini as well, such as San Marino, San Leo, Saludeccio, Misano, Pennabilli, San Patrignano and Verucchio.

Taxis are readily available at Rimini Airport, and offer transport to any destination within Rimini, or any area within 50 km of Rimini. The Taxi companies available are Taxi Rimini and Taxi Riccione. Many passengers find the taxi services to be quick and convenient, even though they are more expensive than the bus services. Rimini Airport features many car hire companies for those passengers who would like to drive their own vehicle. The rental counters of Avis, Sixt, National, Alamo, Europcar, Budget, Maggiore, Hertz and Easycar can be found in the arrivals area of the terminal. Customers can hire a vehicle directly from the rental counters, or they can make an advanced booking from their chosen car hire company’s website. All the car hire companies at Rimini Airport offer a wide range of vehicle choices, and competitive rates designed to suit leisure or business rentals.

Rimini Airport does not have any hotels on its airport property, but there are many hotels in Rimini and Miramare. Younger travelers may be interested in the youth hostels or backpacker hotels in Rimini, for example the Jammin’ Party Hostel Rimini, which is nearby the main promenade of shops, restaurants and night clubs, or the Sunflower Beach Backpackers Hostel, which is within walking distance of the beach and train/bus stations. The Albergo Viking offers a nice garden with a play area for children, and a hydro Jacuzzi as well, and is also nearby the beach. A four star establishment in Viale Vespucci is the Hotel Continental e dei Congressi, and the Hotel Europa Rimini offers affordable and clean accommodation with a private beach area. Other popular hotels include the Hotel Kyriad Vienna, Hotel Morfeo, Hotel River and Residence Paradiso.

Rimini Airport is located in an area with hot Mediterranean summers and lots of sunshine. Even in late Spring the weather is still warm enough for swimming. Temperatures are mild during the autumn and winter months.
