Buses to and from Trapani Airport (TPS)

Trapani Airport is located on the island of Sicily, and is an Italian airport serving over 1.5 million passengers per annum. It is quite well known as the Trapani-Birgi Airport, as it is located alongside Birgi Novo, and also as the Vicenzo Florio Airport. It is part military, but open to civilian flights mainly handled by the airline company of Ryanair. Trapani Airport buses provide a good means of transport to various locations in Sicily, and tourists often travel the island by bus as well. Almost all Italian airports offer excellent bus services, and this form of transport often works out to be the cheapest.

Trapani Airport consists of a single terminal building which was recently renovated and expanded, and now handles departure procedures from the first floor and all arrival facilities are found on the ground floor. It is a well equipped airport, and now has a new food and retail store area of 800 square metres on the upper level. The airport is accessible to disabled passengers as well. The two main bus companies in operation from Trapani Airport are Terravision and AST, or the Azienda Siciliana Trasporti. The buses of these companies travel to the city of Trapani, and to many of the main towns in Western Sicily, for example, Marsala, Palermo, Sciacca and Agrigento. There may also be additional bus services available from the companies of Lumia and Salemi. Taxis are also available from outside the airport terminal, but the buses are often a cheaper service to use.
