Buses to and from Ancona Airport (AOI)

The airport has various transportation options from its terminal building, which include bus and taxi services. Bus transportation is often chosen, as it is more cost efficient, and usually provides a reliable and convenient service.

Passengers will easily find their way around the terminal building, as there is one section dedicated to all departures, and another specifically for all arrival flights. Nowadays, the air terminal of the airport is modern and well equipped, as it was recently renovated and expanded to allow for an increase in passenger traffic. Passengers arriving at the airport can travel to various destinations by bus, while departing passengers can easily reach the airport by bus as well. The Conero Bus Company and the Suburban Bus Company, also known as Finalmente Tours, manage the main bus services at the airport.

Buses arrive and depart from just outside the arrival and departure areas of Ancona Airport, and are available at most hours of the day. Bus tickets can be purchased from the newspaper stand in the departures terminal.

The Conero Bus Service

This urban bus service connects the airport to the centre of Ancona, and to the main railway station in the city. The Ancona Railway Station is located in Piazza Rosselli, while there is also a second railway station known as Ancona Marittima in the port area. The Conero Bus is available approximately every half an hour from the airport, between the hours of 06:30 and 19:30. There is a website available which provides more details on specific times and locations of departure, and can be found at www.conerobus.it.

Their number and letter easily identify Conero Buses. There are two bus lines available, namely, CD and CS. In Ancona city, the Conero Bus will take you back to the airport as well. Bus tickets are available from ticket offices within the main bus stations, from automated ticket machines and from certain tobacconists and authorized newsagents. A one-way ticket is valid for one hour from the time it is stamped, and also allows you to change buses and lines in the same journey. All tickets must be validated when entering the bus, in one of the stamping machines. Passengers caught without a valid ticket, or an unstamped ticket, may be issued a fine by the conductors of the bus service.

The terminal bus stop in Ancona is found at Piazza Cavour, and from here, links to nearby towns are available from the Conero Bus service. The prices of bus tickets depend on the distance to be travelled.

The Conero vehicle fleet consists of around 256 buses and trolley buses, which are regularly checked for safety and cleaned, keeping them well maintained. There are many technicians and skilled workers who constantly maintain the upkeep of the buses. The buses all have air conditioning, which is most welcomed in the warmer summer months.   Passengers therefore find the Conero Buses to be very comfortable and reliable, and to offer a convenient and cost-effective service. The Conero Bus Company can also be contacted at the email address of info@conerobus.it, or at the phone number – 071 2837411 and toll free number of 800-218820.
